The other weekend I was scrolling through instagram and stumbled upon a picture of a good friend hiking a beautiful trail in Charlottesville. That’s when I got this grand idea that Myles and I should spend our Saturday morning hiking! Per usual, Myles thought I was crazy – we aren’t necessarily the hiking type – but he went along with the idea. The only request he had was to stop at Bodo’s Bagels on the way back for one of their delicious bagel sandwiches <3
And just like that we found ourselves waking up at 7:00 AM on a Saturday morning (embarrassingly enough, that’s earlier than I wake up for work!) and making the 1.5 hour trek to Charlottesville. We chose the Humpback Rock hike since it appeared ‘easy’ at just 1 mile out and back. Boy were we wrong! This hike was a major challenge, as it was all uphill. I probably will be sore for days to come, but the views were well worth it at the top.
I brought my new camera along and was able to capture some beautiful shots of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We really were lucky enough to catch the leaves right at their peak:
