Dear St. John

I’ve been very fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to many beautiful places throughout my life. I truly appreciate every place I have been- I always feel so “alive” packing up my suitcase and heading out on a new adventure (especially if it includes the ocean!). After all I am a beach girl at heart…..

Last week I took the trip of a lifetime with my older (wiser!) sister to St. John. She had recently just returned from her first trip to the island and could not stop raving about it. Within a week of her return, we had booked our flights and made hotel arrangements for our first sister trip in almost ten years.

Now before I fill this post with all of the gorgeous shots I took in St. John, let me preface by saying this island is one of a kind. The pictures do not do it justice. Not only is the water crystal clear from the dozens of beaches accessible on the island, but the ‘feel’ of the island is just right. The people who live on the island truly appreciate the beauty. The taxi drivers, shop owners, restaurant servers, and even our wonderful hotel staff were just amazing- so friendly and accommodating. We also had some of the best meals I have ever had on vacation (still dreaming of the most amazing sushi roll at the Caneel Bay Resort and the spring rolls from Longboards in Cruz Bay). I am already longing for my next trip back…..

Now without further adieu…here are just a few of the (way too many!) pictures I took with my new Nikon. My sister and I spent three full days in St John- visiting Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, and the gorgeous Caneel Bay Resort. We stayed at the Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel in the heart of Cruz Bay, and I can not recommend it enough. I hope you enjoy….
