Miss Libby made her grand entrance fashionably late at 41w5d. I had heard that first time moms often went past 40 weeks…but I never expected to make it to almost 42 weeks! Nonetheless, little miss made it clear that we were on her time and she arrived when she was ready. I went into labor several hours before my scheduled induction which is still so crazy to me!
Labor is no joke and definitely one of the hardest things I have ever been through. I couldn’t have done it without Myles by my side, as well as the wonderful midwives at West End Midwifery, nurses at Henrico Doctors, and my doula. It was truly a team effort bringing little Libby safely into this world. I feel very lucky that I had such a positive experience – despite laboring 24+ hours. I definitely don’t take my experience for granted.
For those who are curious, I shared the details of Libby’s birth story on my instastories. I found reading them during my pregnancy to be really helpful/inspiring. Also, I want to preface this by saying all births are beautiful. No matter how your baby enters the world, mom’s are rockstars!
For some reason I went back and forth on whether or not to get newborn pictures done. It seemed overwhelming for some reason? However, I am SO glad we bit the bullet and decided to have a Fresh 48 session. I really can’t recommend it enough, and I tear up looking at these pictures of sweet Libby not even 48 hours old. Our photographer Lindsey Martin was fantastic. I can’t speak any more highly of her. She made the session quick and easy, which was great since I had basically just given birth and didn’t really have time to get myself together like I usually would for pictures! The end result was so much better then I could even imagine.
Lindsey is a gem. If you live in Richmond or even the surrounding area, I highly recommend her for newborn pics, lifestyle pics, maternity pics, etc!
So enough of me talking. I’m just going to let the pictures speak for themselves. Thank you all for following along as Myles and I have grown our little family. Little Libby is our greatest blessing <3
