{OUTFIT DETAILS}

Halogen Bell Sleeve Tunic (40% off!) / Black Skinnies (similar here under $40) / Leopard Pumps (personal fave!) / Monogram Necklace

Happy Wednesday friends! How’s everyone’s week going? I for one am counting down until Friday. I’m taking my family to tour our wedding venue and I couldn’t be more excited, but that’s a story for another time 😉

The other day  I realized I’d gotten off track with my Work Style Wednesday posts, so I figured nows as good a time as ever to bring them back! Lately I’ve been trying to only add pieces to my wardrobe that  1.) can be worn multiple ways (functionality is key!) and 2.) I will wear more than once…

Which brings me to this bell sleeve tunic I picked up from the Nordstrom sale….

Ya’ll, I’m obsessed with this top. I’m definitely a sucker for all things bell sleeve and the color is perfection. It’s so good that I’ve already worn it twice in the last two weeks..whoops!

Not only did I wear this top yesterday to the office with these pumps (how gorgeous is this print?), but I also  took it from the office to happy hour/dinner the other week simply by swapping out these pants with the ones above. So easy for day to night!

Also just to note, this top is really structured- which I love. The material is a little thick which is great for transitioning to spring (temperatures are so weird around here!) I plan on wearing it with white denim in the upcoming weeks and these sandals. Apologies in advance 😉 I also can’t believe it’s $40….

Anyways, I hope ya’ll enjoyed this look. Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO,

What’s your go-to work look? Lately I’m all about anything peplum or bell sleeves with skinnies!

Work Style Wednesday #4 – Flats I Can’t Live Without

Now you may think the title of this post is a little drastic. But I’m not exaggerating whatsoever when it comes to these beloved flats. If you’ve followed along on Instagram for a while (kimsyc), you may have noticed that I post a lot of work #ootds. One thing that pretty much remains the same are the shoes I wear to the office at least every other day (if not everyday…trying to work on that though!)….

Which brings me to that pair of flats I can’t live without……

The Tory Burch Revas!

Outfit Details:

Tory Burch Revas / Jcrew Factory Skirt (comes in 5 colors, the raspberry is gorgeous!) / Leopard Top (love the long sleeve version here/ Cardigan (size down)

Now let me preface by saying, that I admit these flats are more splurge-worthy. But trust me ladies, you’ll get your money’s worth. One piece of advice that I like to stick to when it comes to pricier items, is to think about the ‘cost per wear’ (this is coming from an accountant after all 😉 )

So let me break it down:

Let’s figure, in my case as an example, I bought my first pair of black Revas two years ago. Since then let’s estimate I’ve worn them 2x/week just to be on the cautious side. That’s almost 200 wears in 2 years for a pair of flats that run about $200 give or take. If you’re still following my crazy logic, that’s simply $1/wear! I also have to add that my first pair is still going strong and I plan on wearing them for years to come….

Anyways, by now I’m sure you get that I’m obsessed with these flats. Not only are they perfect for the office year round, but they can be worn on the weekends for an easy put together look. They’re super comfy and actually mold to your feet over time. Now that I’ve fallen hard for this style of shoe, I really have a difficult time wearing any other flats (especially if I  know a lot of walking/ standing will be involved!)

I highly recommend the classic black pair, but the tan pair is just as great. If you’ve never tried a pair on, I’d recommend stopping into your local Nordstrom or Tory Burch store, because sizing can vary based on color.. (very strange…but just a heads up!)

As for the rest of my outfit…

This Jcrew Factory skirt is a wardrobe staple. I own it in a handful of colors, with the tan and black being my favorites. Generally I’ll throw on a gingham button down or Elsa top, but recently picked up this leopard top and love how fun it is! But in all seriousness, this combo is such an easy work look that requires minimal thinking on mornings when you just can’t… (I’m sure ya’ll can relate!)

Well enough of my rambling, I hope everyone has a  wonderful Wednesday. I have some fun things coming up on simpleyetchic that I’ve been working on behind the scenes, that I can’t wait to share (including a fun giveaway!)

XOXO,

Work Style Wednesday #3 – Make a Statement

Another Wednesday is here friends, and that means a ‘work style’ post (be sure to check out #1 and #2 here). Today’s look is all about making a statement, when traditional business casual can be sort of blahhh. Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good pair of classic black bottoms with a nice blouse or cardigan (on occasion…), but sometimes you have to mix it up a little bit to have some fun.

Enter- THESE gorgeous leopard pumps.

Outfit Details:

Leopard Pumps (obsessed is an understatement) / Wool Pencil Skirt (comes in so many great colors, fits true to size) / The Perfect Tunic (only $28!) / Black Purse (old, similar and it can be monogrammed!)

Leopard is practically a neutral in my eyes for fall/winter, and these Jcrew Factory pumps are pretty much perfection. They immediately take a more conservative look and elevate it just a tad with some spunk! Oh and by the way, my pumps arrived on Saturday, and I’ve already worn them once (whoops!) After a days wear, I can tell you that these are great quality for the price and pretty comfortable (this is coming from a girl who rarely wears pumps these days, and my feet were happy!)

I recommend pairing these pumps with a colored skirt (like this burgundy one above) or colored pants. Keep the top simple and you’ll easily have yourself a put together, chic look that will help you stand out among your coworkers (in a good way of course 😉 ).

Now tell me, how many other leopard obsessed ladies are out there? Are you a ‘pump’ or ‘flats’ type of girl when it comes to work attire? (I definitely go through phases!)

Splurge vs. Save: Shoes & Handbags

shoes

Details:

Valentino Rockstud Sandals // Rebecca Minkoff Georgina Studded Sandals (currently on sale!)

Chloe Suede Espadrille //  Marc Fisher Espadrille (NEED!!)

Stuart Weitzman Lace-Up // Halogen Owen Flat (part of the NSALE!)

WOOOHH!!! Can I get a three cheers for Friday!?! I don’t know about ya’ll, but between our A/C breaking & a few nights of bad storms, this week has been a long one. I’m so ready for the weekend (we have company coming!) and hope to spend some time relaxing by the pool.

Today I wanted to do something a little different. Recently I’ve become obsessed (this is totally an understatement…) with designer shoes and handbags. A few years ago, I wouldn’t even think twice about ‘investing’ in such things. Flash forward to now, and several pairs of Tory Burch shoes/handbags later, and I definitely have gone over to the ‘dark side,’ LOL!

What I’ve also learned is that while it’s good to invest in quality shoes/handbags that you will wear repeatedly (I’m looking at you Tory Burch flats & Miller Sandals that I wear pretty much daily…), sometimes it’s wiser to go for an option that has the same look, but a much smaller price tag. For more ‘trendy’ items, it’s so easy to get the designer look for way less! Not only will you be feeling fabulous, but your wallet will also thank you (a win-win!)

So I’ve gone ahead and rounded up three designer shoe and handbag ‘dupes’ that I’m crushing on. These Rebecca Minkoff sandals are a personal favorite, and one’s that I’ve gotten a lot of wear out of (ps- they’re on major sale!) I’m also obsessed with these Marc Fisher espadrilles and may or may not be stalking Nordstrom for them to restock my size (they are an absolute identical dupe to the much pricier Chloe option!) Also, this Vince Camuto Shoulder bag might have to come home with me (it’s part of the Nordstrom sale and genuine leather, so gorgeous!)

handbags

Details:

Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag // Sole Society Bucket Tote (on sale!)

Chloe Faye // Vince Camuto Shoulder Bag (part of the NSALE! & genuine leather)

Chloe Drew Shoulder Bag // Shein Shoulder Bag

Do you have any favorites?? Are you a fan of finding designer ‘dupes’ as well?? I’d love to hear  ya’lls thoughts.
